Research Programmer for the SCION clean-slate secure Internet architecture
SCION naturally prevents attacks and provides a high level of availability, scalability, path control, and fault isolation. We’re trying to change the world of inter-domain routing, and we’re thus looking for motivated, committed, and brave individuals to help us realize this vision. The main duty of this position is the implementation of SCION routers, servers, and gateways; to work with collaborators on code development, software releases, and software testing; to assist in conducting testing and evaluation of the SCION prototype using local testbed resources and our real-world testbed; and to contribute to documentation. Starting date is as soon as possible.
We seek individuals with a subset of the following skills: BS or advanced degree in computer science, engineering or relevant work experience. Experience in design, implementation and testing of large-scale systems with particular attention to security, scalability, and high-performance implementation. Experience in the administration of Unix systems, and the management of networks of machines. Knowledge of low-level networking and Linux network internals. Programming languages: Go, Python, C/C++. The ideal candidate has a passion for large-scale system development, hands-on work and supporting a research organization. Furthermore, the candidate should enjoy working in teams, be ready to meet new challenges, and contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously. Applicants should be well versed in English.
