Postdoctoral position in the field of Whole Building Energy Data Analysis, Systems Modeling and Simulation
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to contribute to our research on Data-Driven Retrofit, which is part of the Swiss Competence Center in Energy Research (SCCER FEEB&D). The candidates’ work will focus on analyzing building sensor data to establish data-driven building models, model calibration, results data analysis and evaluation of suitable retrofit options. In teaching the candidate will contribute to tutoring architecture and engineering students on HVAC and renewable energy systems, modeling and simulation of such systems as well as sustainable building concepts.
The candidate should have a doctoral degree in energy-, mechanical- or civil engineering, and should have excellent knowledge of the state of the art building systems such as HVAC and Renewable Energy Systems, including knowledge on building systems controls. Furthermore, the candidate should be able to establish, apply and calibrate RC building energy models as well as models in dynamic environments such as Energy Plus, TRNSYS, or Polysun. These skills are complemented by good knowledge and interest in methods of data analysis and machine learning. Interest in interdisciplinary team work, very good communication skills and command of English (spoken and written) are essential.
