Description
Internship Objective We are seeking a hands-on IT & AI Transformation Intern to support the implementation of technology, AI tools, workflows and governance within a modern international law firm. This is not a purely theoretical internship. You will work closely with lawyers, management and external technology partners to understand how work is done, identify where technology can improve it and help implement solutions that are practical, secure and adopted in day-to-day operations. - Support the implementation, configuration and rollout of IT and AI tools
- Help evaluate new technologies, software solutions and automation platforms
- Test new tools, document results and identify practical use cases
- Assist with user onboarding, training materials and internal communications
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external technology providers
- Track implementation progress, open issues and follow-up actions
Processes and workflows
- Map existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Document workflows, responsibilities, dependencies and approval steps
- Help design and implement digital workflows and automation
- Support the standardis
- ation of recurring tasks and internal procedures
- Create clear process documentation, checklists and user guides
- Monitor whether implemented workflows work in practice and suggest adjustments
AI transformation
- Research and assess relevant AI applications for legal and business operations
- Help develop practical AI use cases for legal research, drafting, knowledge management, administration and client service
- Test prompts, tools and workflows for quality, reliability and usability
- Document limitations, risks and appropriate use cases
- Support the development of internal AI guidelines and usage standards
- Help distinguish between useful automation and technology without a clear business purpose
Governance, security and quality
- Support the documentation of technology and AI governance requirements
- Help maintain inventories of tools, workflows, use cases and responsible owners
- Assist with access rights, approval processes and basic controls
- Contribute to data protection, confidentiality and information-security reviews
- Help establish quality checks, escalation procedures and audit trails
- Raise potential risks where tools, data or processes do not meet internal requirements
Operational support
- Provide first-level support to colleagues using newly implemented tools and workflows
- Investigate recurring issues and coordinate their resolution
- Prepare concise status updates for management
- Attend internal meetings, workshops and technology briefings
- Provide administrative and organisational support for transformation projects as needed
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business informatics, engineering, business administration or a related field
- Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, automation, digital transformation or technology-enabled services
- Strong practical mindset and willingness to work directly with tools, systems and users
- Ability to understand and document business processes clearly
- Good analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable testing unfamiliar software and learning new tools independently
- Basic understanding of data protection, information security or technology governance
- Strong attention to detail and a structured working style
- Fluent in English; German is an advantage
- Reliable communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- A proactive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, high-performing team

Useful Additional Skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365, workflow automation, no-code or low-code platforms
- Experience with AI assistants, prompt design or AI evaluation
- Basic knowledge of APIs, data structures or software integrations
- Experience creating process maps, documentation or internal training materials
- Familiarity with project management tools and implementation tracking
- Interest in legal technology, professional services or regulated industries
