The Wyss Zurich is a joint research and development center of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, which was made possible by a generous donation from the Swiss entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. h.c. mult. hemotune is a early stage medical device startup project currently incubated at Wyss Zurich. Our mission is to develop a live-saving breakthrough medical device for targeted blood purification. We are currently in the preclinical development phase with the goal of reaching a first-in-man clinical trial in 2021. R&D Intern (m/f, for at least 3 months (60-100%)
We offer the unique opportunity to be a part of a young startup team and to develop a live-saving therapy that has the potential to change the medical landscape. You will have the chance to get a deeper insight into the medical device industry and apply your knowledge accumulated during your studies. Your responsibilities are to support our interdisciplinary R&D team in the synthesis, chemical characterization and functional testing of hemotune products. Furthermore, you will assist in the pre-clinical evaluation of our unique magnetic blood purification technology as well as track, monitor, and report the project progress and deliverables.
You are excited to work in a startup environment and are a strong team player, who enjoys thinking outside of the box. Besides excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and/or English, you bring along a bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Materials Science or Nanotechnology. You are experienced in working in a laboratory environment and are familiar with chemical standard synthetic and analytical techniques, while experience with nanoparticles and biological assays is a plus.
